For years, my mom and I have been wanting to attend the Gospel Sunday Brunch at House of Blues. This year we finally decided to make it happen as an early Mother’s Day celebration. I’m so glad we did! The food was delicious and the entertainment was so fun. Brunch was served buffet style and included a waffle bar, omelette station, meat carving, and lots of southern-style items. The biscuits and gravy were probably some of the best I’ve ever had. The fried chicken was moist and crispy. I also loved the cinnamon rolls. Man, my mouth is watering just remembering it!
Ok, on to the show. After our brunch we were entertained by the musical talents of Bishop John W. Haynes & Change. They were great at getting the crowd involved. Maybe a little too great… At one point, they asked if there was anyone who had a birthday recently and then had us come onto stage to dance with them. My mom excitedly pointed at me until I finally stood-up. Luckily I had the joy of choosing another victim to bring with me, so I thanked my mom for pointing me out by asking her to join me on stage. Hehe.
Despite my slightly embarrassing stage performance, I would say overall, it was a really fun experience. I wish we had realized how loud it would be because I worried about Luca. Other than that, it was perfect. Feast your eyes on our fun time! Make sure you check-out my mom’s sweet dance moves.
Good times, very good times.
